The inherent problem we all face of being so uniquely ourselves while simultaneously existing in a tangled web of context we all share within humanity. That feeling of being both overwhelmingly full, yet in some places, so empty.
I Am (W)hole is trying to summarize the connundrum of being a human being on Earth... and channelling the many signals we all process while simultaneously being that interconnected web of all things, while at the same time being insignificant and ephemeral.
We, as the self and the only one capable of understanding our own human experience, are our own solutions, as we are the only consistent factor in our own equations.
With an album that combines spoken word with music that accents each syllable and phrase, a series of cinematic visuals with time and energy deeply invested, a piece of living art, echoing beyond..a dichotomous journey of ups and downs processing the raw vibration of the subject matter with a sort of verbal alchemy that draws from difficult topics norishment, rather avoid difficult subjects Ballas chooses to confront what we fear most…
This project, set to release on halloween, is more than just a new work from a Sacramento artist. It is a beckoning echoing into the silence of the absolute, begging you to look past the shadow that society has cast and find out for yourself.
And through that, find out that you were never alone to begin with, that like tides, all things rise, that what is silent is begging to be spoken
